The Tyler Project Summer Jazz Camp is an intensive program for middle school* musicians to learn and develop the foundations of jazz music and performance. Students will play and perform in an ensemble and will take classes including Jazz Sight Reading, Improvisation, Jazz History, "How to Practice," and Ensemble class. After completion, students will leave with inspiration, materials and pathways to continue their development long after camp has ended.
The Jazz Camp curriculum is built on concepts and skills that are vital to understanding and performing jazz music. Every student will receive instruction in these five areas, regardless of ability and/or skill level.

1) The following instruments are eligible to enroll:
Saxophone (Alto, Tenor, or Baritone), Trumpet, Trombone, Flute, Clarinet, Drums, Piano and/or vibes, Guitar, Bass (upright and/or electric)
2) Must provide own instrument (unless the student is currently enrolled in the Millikan Band Program)
3) Must have at least one year of experience on the instrument
4) Middle School (Age 10 to 14 and also includes graduating 8th graders)
5) Students interested in learning to play a second instrument**

Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced vocal technique including Jazz, Pop and Classical Choral Studies.
Including improv, Scene work, Mime (Clowning) and Performance Workshop.
Educational Seminar: Performance Lecture Demonstrations from national and international professional working artists.
“Reinventing Art” and Raising awareness on recycling
TTP Summer Visual Arts Program includes Fashion and Costume Design and will focus on improving students’ attitudes about recycling.TTP Summer Arts Festival final showcase will feature students’ work in group exhibits and in stage performance art.
Students will learn to create art projects through recycled materials.
Also includes water colors, paper mache, mask making, life drawing, poster design, acrylic and oil painting.
An Eco-friendly class dedicated to recycling, re-using and up-cycling fashion! Students will learn the basics of sewing on a sewing machine and by hand using recycled clothing and unconventional materials. As students focus on the fundamentals of fabrics, textiles, patterns and alterations, the class will design fashion, apparel and
accessories in a unique surprising way.
